FULLERTON, Calif. – The throwers and distance runners had strong showings in Long Beach at the Beach Pacific Coast Intercollegiate Meet and in Cerritos for the first day of the Mt. Sac Relays.

The Titans recorded five new personal records, highlighted by Steven Parsons who finished 6th overall in the hammer throw at the Mt. Sac Relays.

The day began in Long Beach, Calif. at the Beach Pacific Coast Intercollegiate Meet where the Titans had two new personal records set.

Tayla Schultz crushed her season best in the hammer throw, improving by almost three meters with her throw of 44.60m.

The throwers also had a personal record shattered as Jalen Morgan set a new best in the discus throw with his distance of 47.67m.

In Cerritos, the Titans kicked off the first day of the Mt. Sac relays, competing in the throws and distance runs.

Steven Parsons has continued his streak and has improved upon his personal record in the hammer throw every week, with this week being no different. Parsons finished in 6th overall and set a new personal record with his throw of 56.61m.

As for the distance runners, Tim Reed and Stephanie Ruiz both set new personal records in the in 3,000m steeple chase and the 10,000m run, respectively.

Reed finished 21st out of the group of 53 and improving upon his personal best with his time of 9:15.36.

Ruiz also improved upon her 10,000m run time immensely, finishing 24th overall and recording a time of 37:28.57.

The Titans will continue tomorrow at the Mt. Sac Relays as the runners take to the track while the throwers and distance runners will start day one at the Beach Invite.
