FULLERTON, Calif.—The Cal State Fullerton track and field team will split up this weekend, as half the team will head to the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, California, while the other half travels to Cerritos, California to compete in the Beach Invite.

Most of the attention will be aimed at the Mt. SAC Relays, where Fullerton will send fifteen student-athletes, including Titan standouts Katie Wilson (200 and 400-meter dash), Ashley Sims (100 and 200-meter dash), Deena Pierce (100-meter hurdles, Walter Whitaker (triple jump), Javon May (400-meter hurdles), Brian Luther (100-meter, 200-meter dash), and Sean Krinik (800-meter run). All of them rank in the top 10 in the conference in their respective events.

The Titans will also compete in the 4x100 and 4x400 relay races on both the men's and women's side. Fullerton took home wins in the women's 4x100 and 4x400 relay, as well as the men's 4x100 relay last weekend at the Big West Challenge.

The meet kicks off with the men's 1500-meter run Thursday at 1:30 p.m. and concludes Saturday with the men's 4x400-relay at 6:45 p.m.

With the exception of Whitaker, the rest of the Titan field squad will be at the Beach Invite. Anchoring that crew will be Kara Kalmar and Shawn McNany, as both will be competing in the pole vault. Jasmyne Davis also looks to be one of the favorites to place high in the women's triple jump, as she currently ranks ninth in the conference in the event.

The Beach invite will begin with the women's hammer throw, Friday at noon and will conclude Saturday with the men's 4x400 relay at 6:40 p.m.
