SEATTLE, Wash. – The Cal State Fullerton women's indoor track and field team completed day one of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Track and Field Championships on the campus of the University of Washington behind record-breaking finishes by multiple Fullerton student-athletes.

The Titans went the distance as two school records fell and one was tied on the first day of the MPSF Championships.

Throws
Jessica Flores got the day off to a great start for the Titans, finishing 7th overall after making it to the final round of the weight throw. The senior set a personal record with her throw of 18.42 meters (60.43 feet) and barely missed the school record by seven centimeters.

Pole Vault
Alysse McMillen tied the school record in the pole vault previously set by Jennifer Clarke in 2004 with her height of 3.71 meters.

Distance
Stephanie Ruiz saw a 45-second improvement as she not only set a new personal record, but shattered the previous school record for the 5,000 meter run with her time of 18:08.48. The previous school record of 18:10.84 was set in 2009 by Yomaira Hernandez.

The distance medley relay team was at it again, improving by nine seconds on their previously set school record set earlier in the season at the UW Invitational. The quartet of Sierra Ungerman, Zuri Henderson, Stephanie Cortez and Emily Taylor recorded a time of 12:07.48 to once again rewrite the record books.

The Titans are back in Seattle, Wash. tomorrow to finish out the weekend at the MPSF Championships.  To follow along with live results of the final day at the University of Washington, log onto www.gohuskies.com.
