SEATTLE—Cal State Fullerton cross country standout senior Lexi Bravo got her first taste of track and field competition as she placed 11th (18:47.95) in the 5000-meter run Friday afternoon at the UW Invitational at Dempsey Indoor.

After spending the last four seasons running cross country at Cal State Fullerton, Bravo decided to give track and field a shot this spring. The 5000-meter run marked her first ever track and field event.

Tijerra Lynch (5:28.50) and Sara Taylor (5:32.44) placed 10th and 11th in the mile run, while Lauren McIntyre (10:23.97) and Katie Bathgate (10:23.97) placed 15th and 16th in the 3000-meter run.

Casey Candelaria was originally scheduled to take part in the mile run, but didn't compete due to injury. Ana Valdovinos was also held out of the 3000-meter.

The Titans will head back up to Seattle, Washington in two weeks for the Husky Classic on Feb. 8 and 9th.
