Titans Win 4x400 Relay at NAU Invitational

Flagstaff, Ariz.— Katie Wilson, Morgan Thompson, Ashley Sims, and Tenia Sebastian combined to run a 3:51.46 to lead Cal State Fullerton to a first place finish in the 4x400 relay Saturday afternoon at the NAU Invitational.

The win marked Fullerton's first event win of the 2013 indoor season, as it edged UNLV (3:52.00) by the narrowest margins to claim victory.

Wilson (55.96) also finished second in the 400-meter dash, while teammate Morgan Thompson (57.66) placed third. Deena Pierce (8.89) also placed second in the 60-meter hurdle to highlight the individual efforts for the Titans.

Ashley Sims also finished third in the 200-meter dash (24.91), just in front of teammates M. Thompson (25.51) and Jasiri Blake (25.83), who each set personal bests and finished eighth and ninth respectively. Sims (7.68) also claimed fifth in the 60-meter dash, while Jasiri (7.78) took seventh.

Jasmyne Davis set personal bests in the long jump (17'0) and triple jump (36'10)

"Overall it wasn't a great or a bad meet for us," said associate head coach Brandit Copper. "We're definitely already better than we were last year at this time, with still a lot of improvements to make. Things are looking bright for the Titans this upcoming season."

On the men's side, Bryan Luther (6.99) finished second in the 60-meter dash, while Javon May (8.83) set a personal best and placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdle. Both athletes competed unattached.
