John Sanjuan enters his first season as an assistant coach for the Titans after serving as an undergraduate assistant during 2013. The former Titan has helped the program win back-to-back Big West Championships (2013 & 2014) as Fullerton is set to make its first NCAA Regional appearance since the program was reinstated for the 2009-10 campaign.
Over the last two years with Sanjuan as part of the coaching staff, the Titans have totaled six first-place finishes, including four during the 2013-14 season. In addition, Fullerton has produced one individual title, while the squad has received seven Big West All-Conference accolades, including senior Mark Anguiano being named Big West Golfer of the Year in 2014.
In 2013, the team finished the year ranked No. 72 in the country (Golf Stat), while Fullerton enters the NCAA Regional with a No. 57 rating.
Before beginning coaching duties for the Titans, Sanjuan spent three years (2010-12) as a student-athlete at CSF competing in 2010 and 2012, while using his redshirt year in 2011. He played in 16 tournaments, and during his senior year, had an average score of 76.46 with a total of 1,988 strokes over 26 rounds.
Prior to attending Cal State Fullerton, Sanjuan totaled two years of all-conference experience at the community college level, playing one season at Saddleback College and one at Cypress College. He was a three-time All-Garden Grove League MVP for Rancho Alamitos High School, graduating in 2007.

CSF '11-12: John Sanjuan played in
9 of the 11 events last season for the Titans... had an average
score of 76.46 with a total of 1,988 strokes over 26 rounds... best
finish was a tie for 12th place at both the Monarch Dunes Golf Club
in Nipomo in October with a 7-over par 220 for 54 holes and at
Sunbrook Golf Club in Utah in February with a 1-over 145 for 36
holes... best rounds were a pair of 70s -- both in the second round
at Monarch Dunes and at Fort Washington CC in Fresno in March.
CSF '10-11: John sat out the 2010-11 season as a redshirt.
CSF '09-10: John played 20 rounds over 7 tournaments for the Titans in their renewal 2009-10 season and he had the best scoring average on the squad at 75.0 (1,499 strokes)... best finish was tied for fourth at the Firestone Grill Invitational in San Luis Obispo on Oct. 5-6... best round was a 65, the best by a Titan all season, in the first round at the Del Walker Invitational in Long Beach on Oct. 23.
COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Had two years of all-conference experience at the community college level ... played one season at Saddleback College and one at Cypress College.
HIGH SCHOOL: Three-time All-Garden Grove League MVP for Rancho Alamitos High School and Coach Kevin Mills... was on the RAHS honor roll all four years.
PERSONAL: Parents are Miguel and Lori Sanjuan of Garden Grove.. has an older brother, Miguel, Jr., and a younger brother, Marcus... John is a nephew of former Cal State Fullerton basketball star Ike Harmon... Don Brown is John's teaching professional... John's goal is to become a professional golfer and start his own clothing line.
