Position: Senior Associate Athletics Director

Greg Paules serves as the Senior Associate Athletics Director and Chief Operating Officer for Titan Athletics. Elevated to the role in December 2020, Paules directs the day-to-day operations of the Division 1 Athletic Department and oversees marketing, ticketing, scheduling, game contracts, sports information, broadcasting, corporate sponsors, facility rentals, graphic design, and brand management. His duties also include the administration and supervision of men's basketball, men's golf, women's golf, men's soccer, and women's tennis. Paules is a member of the Vice President of Student Affairs Cabinet and the Senior Admin Team.

Paules joined the Cal State Fullerton Athletic Department in 2013 as the Associate Athletic Director for Development. For seven years, he continued to set records and raise the bar for philanthropic productivity. Paules is responsible for closing more than 100 major gifts and generating more than $20 million during the $250 million It Takes A Titan Campaign, which is the first comprehensive campaign in Cal State Fullerton history. More dollars were raised for athletics during the first five and a half years under Paules than had been raised during the first 55 years of the institution’s existence. He worked with a volunteer golf committee to build a seven-figure golf endowment and created a planned giving program that has led to more than $10 million in estate commitments.

Paules came to Cal State Fullerton from the University of California, Irvine Athletic Department where he served in a variety of external relation roles beginning as a marketing intern in 2005. He worked his way up from an unpaid intern to the right hand of the Athletic Director, serving as the Special Assistant to the Athletic Director with an emphasis on External Relations beginning in 2009. Advising the AD and senior staff, Paules elevated the athletic program’s external footprint. Serving as the department brand manager, Paules implemented new policies to increase brand consistency and strengthen the UC Irvine Athletics brand in the community. He led a website redesign and created new marketing opportunities with a Corporate Holiday Program. Paules then added development oversight of the Anteater Athletic Fund from 2011-2013. While spearheading all aspects of annual giving, membership hit an all-time high and giving saw a six figure increase year-over-year.

Active in the community, Paules sits on the Boys & Girls Club of Fullerton Board of Directors and volunteers as a Big Brother for Big Brother/Big Sisters of Orange County. Invited to participate in the Athletic Director Mentorship Program in 2015, Paules has gained valuable experience with his involvement with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). He also served as the Big West Conference Representative from 2015-17 with the National Association of Athletic Directors of Development (NAADD).

A native of Pasadena, Calif., Paules graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology and a minor in education from the UC Irvine and earned a master's degree in business administration (MBA) from the Paul Merage School of Business in 2009. At the Merage School of Business, Paules served as President of the Sports and Entertainment Business Club and was the youngest MBA graduate in the school’s history. Paules resides in Anaheim Hills, Calif. with his wife, Peggy, and daughters, Lyla and Eve.
