SAN DIEGO—Fullerton's doubles tandem Masako Makiba and Luxizi Meng find themselves in the round of 32 after securing their 8-2 win over UCI's Dean/Parker tandem.
Caisey Emery and Genevieve Zeidan lost their doubles match 8-6 to CSUN's Roenholt/Taslagyan. Sarah Nuno and Karla Portalatin also lost their doubles set to USC tandem Corcoleotes/Valdes.
Jadie Acidera and Tiani Jadulang begin doubles play Friday morning against LBSU Devarakonda/Sadeghvarizi in the round of 32.
Jadulang lost to the 16th seeded Volodko of UC Santa Barbara in the round of 64. Meng followed with a loss against SDSU's Nadozie.
Sarah Nuno picked up a win on Thursday over CSUN's Mari Taslagyan 6-1, 6-4 to clinch a spot in the round of 32 beginning Friday.
Coming off a first successful tournament run in Long Beach (10/6-10/8), Freshmen Genevieve Zeidan continues her hot streak with a win over LBSU Georgi Gulin in the first round. Zeidan then went on to defeat LMU's Anna Romeka 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. Zeidan will get her start in the round of 32 on Friday at 12:30 p.m. PT.
Acidera collected a win in the first round over UCI's Gillian Parker. Acidera went on to lose the round of 64 to LMU's Siobhan Anderson.
Freshmen Caisey Emery fell 7-5, 6-2 to Hawai'i's Houbova in the first. Freshmen Taylor Valenzuela also fell in the first round to LBSU's Sadaf Sadeghvarizi.
In the final matches of the day, Fullerton took on two seeded players. Portalatin took on No. 7 seed Jada Hart where she lost 6-1, 6-3 in the round of 64. Makiba took on No.15 seed Lena Pacholski but unfortunately fell 6-2, 6-1.
