FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's golf looks to finish the season strong at the 2018 Big West Championships beginning Sunday, April 28 through May 1 at the Pacific Palms Resort in the City of Industry.
The Titans head into the tournament as the No. 4 seed in the conference. Fullerton will be paired up with No. 5 UC Riverside and No. 6 Cal Poly in the first round with tee times beginning at 8:50 a.m. Sunday morning.
The top three seeded teams in UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara and Long Beach State will get the first day of the tournament started off beginning on the tee's at 8 a.m. The 54-hole, three-day tournament is set to play on "The Ike" Eisenhower Course, a par 72, 6,989 yard course.
Fullerton will be sending the five-man lineup of Derek Castillo, Matt Wilson, Dalton Daniel, Martin Manalo and Mark Cobey.
Tournament Seeding: No.1 UC Davis, No. 2 UC Santa Barbara, No. 3 Long Beach State, No. 4 Cal State Fullerton, No. 5 UC Riverside, No. 6 Cal Poly, No. 7 UC Irvine, No. 8 CSUN and No. 9 Hawai'i.
Last Time on the Green: The Titans finished tied for third place at the El Macero Classic with a score of 27-over par 891. Fullerton moved up from sixth place after round one all the way to a tie for third. Derek Castillo led the way individually with a tied for 12th place finish at 7-over par 223. Mark Cobey and Matt Wilson finished tied for 14th place at 8-over par 224.
