FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team returns to action on Monday participating in the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate at Palouse Ridge Golf Course on the campus of Washington State.
THE COURSE: Washington State's Palouse Ridge Golf Club, a 7,308-yard track at par 71, is located on campus and was the host for the 2015 Men's Pac-12 Golf Championships…the course opened in Aug. 2008 and has been named to Golfweek's Top College Courses List for the last three consecutive years.
THE FIELD: Joining WSU and Cal State Fullerton in the 14-team field will be British Columbia, Gonzaga, Idaho, Pacific, Sacramento State, San Jose State, Seattle, South Dakota, Utah, Utah Valley, Texas Rio Grande Valley, and Western Washington.

Rankings for the 2016 Itani Quality Homes Collegiate: No. 85 Idaho, No. 93 Washington State, No. 95 Sacramento State, No. 125 Seattle, No. 137 Gonzaga, No. 155 San Jose State, No. 157 Utah, No. 185 Utah Valley, No. 170 Pacific, No. 255 South Dakota, British Columbia (NR), Texas Rio Grande Valley (NR) and Western Washington (NR).
LAST TIME AT THE ITANI QUALITY HOMES COLLEGIATE: Participating in its first tournament of the 2015-16 season, the Cal State Fullerton men's golf team finished third at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate played at Palouse Ridge Golf Course on the campus of Washington State on Sept. 29.
With a third-round score of 283, the Titans finished the tournament at 9-under-par for a final score of 843, four strokes behind second-place finisher Seattle (-13, 839) as well as 24 strokes behind champion and host Washington State (-33, 819).
The score of 843 ranked third all-time at Cal State Fullerton for the program's lowest 54-hole team scores.
Redshirt senior Mark Jensma was the top Titan finisher, recording a third-round score 2-under-par 69 to finish his tournament tied for ninth with a total score of 209 (-4).
LAST TIME OUT ON THE LINKS: Matt Wilson delivered his best round of the tournament carding a third-round score of 1-under 71 as the rookie finished tied for third on the leader board, while the Cal State Fullerton men's golf team placed seventh at the Big West Championship following its best round of the event, 3-over 291, at Wood Ranch Golf Club on May 4, 2016.
Fullerton's three-round score of 24-over-par 888 placed the Titans at seventh in the standings while UC Riverside entered the final round of play with a six-stroke lead and never let up as the Highlanders went on to capture the 2016 Big West Conference Men's Golf Championship after carding a three-day score of 2-under 862.
The Highlanders claimed their first men's title since 2005 after leading second place Cal Poly by three strokes.

• Matt Wilson was named Big West Conference Honorable Mention as announced by the league on May 11, 2016. Wilson, playing in his first collegiate season, led the Titans in three events during the spring while totaling five top-20 finishes during the year. The rookie from Cypress, Calif., led the Titans with a 73.80 scoring average. Wilson played in 10-of-11 tournaments during the season, and produced his best performance at the 20th Del Walker Intercollegiate with a career best round of 67, a career best three-round score of 207 and a career-best finish of second.
• Matt Wilson carded a three-round score of 1-under 215 to finish tied for third at the 2016 Big West Championship, the best placement for a Titan since Mark Anguiano tied for second in the standings in 2014. He was also the top placing freshman at the event, and Wilson's finish at the Big West Championship is the best for a Titan rookie since the program was reinstated for the 2010 season. For Wilson, it was third time he led the Titans at an event during the spring
• Mark Cobey's third-round score of 68 at the OGIO USCB Intercollegiate on April 12, 2016, matched a career best, while his fifth-place finish and three-round score of 214 also marked career bests for the native of Woodland, Calif.
• Cal State Fullerton's third-place finish at the Sacramento State Invitational on March 8, 2016, was its best of the spring and its best since a third place mark at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate on Sept. 29, 2015.
• Matt Wilson completed the 20th Del Walker Intercollegiate on March 1, 2016, with a three-round score of 207 (-3), tying for second in the standings. For the rookie, it was his best three-round score and best finish in his Titan career. Wilson's second-place finish was the best for a Titan this year and the best since Mark Anguiano finished in a tie for second place at the 2014 Big West Championship.
• Jack Ireland posted a third-round score of 5-under-par 65 at the 20th Del Walker Intercollegiate on March 1, 2016. For Ireland, his third-round score was his best round of golf as a Titan, and is the lowest score for any CSF player this year. Ireland's round of 65 is only the sixth in Titan history and the first since Mark Anguiano did so in the first round at the El Macero Classic on April 18, 2014.
• Matt Murphy recorded the best finish of his career shooting at 2-over-par 218, good for third place at the Folino Invitational on Feb. 16, 2016. Murphy's third-place finish, competing as an individual, was the best for a CSF player at the Folino Invitational since Mark Anguiano won the event in 2014.
• Junior Martin Manalo carded the best finish of his Titan career, tying for 12th overall with a final score of 222 (+6) at the Folino Invitational on Feb. 16, 2016.
• Fullerton's final score of 843 from the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate on Sept. 29, 2015 ranks third all-time at Cal State Fullerton for the program's 54-hole team score.
