Box Score

FULLERTON, CA - Cal State Fullerton junior shortstop Blake Davis homered twice and drove in four while sophomore right-hander Wes Roemer tied a career-high with 12 strikeouts on the night as the top-seeded Titans remained unbeaten in NCAA Regional play with a 9-2 victory over second-seeded Fresno State on Saturday night at Goodwin Field.

Fullerton improved to 45-13 overall on the season and will meet the winner of Sunday's match-up between San Diego and Fresno State later that night at approximately 9:05 p.m. The Bulldogs fell to 44-17 overall on the season.

Davis, who hit just three home runs all season, finished 2-for-4 on the night with a solo home run to lead off the third to tie the game and gave the Titans the lead for good one inning later with a three-run home run to key a five-run fourth for Cal State Fullerton.

Senior Danny Dorn, who finished 3-for-5 and drove in four, also homered in the fourth and was joined by junior Brandon Tripp, who hit his ninth of the year in the fifth inning.

Roemer (12-1) was masterful after a rocky first inning, allowing just two runs on five hits and walking two in eight innings of work. He retired 12 straight batters at one point into the fifth inning and tied his career mark in strikeouts set twice this season - the last coming on March 31 against Cal State Northridge. Sophomore Adam Jorgenson pitched a perfect ninth to close out the game.

Doug Fister (8-6) suffered the loss, allowing eight runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings of work. Ozzie Lewis finished 2-for-4 with a home run to lead the Bulldogs' offensive attack.
