Titans Fall to Long Beach State in Conference Opener

FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's water polo dropped their first conference game, 15-1, to Long Beach State at the Titan Aquatics Center on Friday night. Fullerton is 9-11 overall and 0-1 in Big West play.

Long Beach State grabbed a quick 5-0 lead in the first period and continued to apply pressure on the Titans throughout the game. They out-shot the Titans with a .417 shooting percentage.

Gabrielle Zaretskiy scored the only goal for the Titans with five minutes left on a penalty shot.

Minami Creamer relieved Haden Skye Bates of goalkeeping duty in the final period, allowing Long Beach to score their last two goals. Bates allowed 13 goals on 36 shots while saving eight and grabbed two steals.

The Titans are set to host UC Irvine on Saturday at 12 p.m.
