CLAREMONT, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's water polo won both games Saturday at the Claremont Convergence on final second shots by Kylie Corwin, defeating Westcliff and Whittier College. With the two wins the Titans improve to 9-10 on the year. 

Cal State Fullerton 8, Westcliff 7

After falling behind 4-1 in the second quarter the Titans came back to tie the game at 4-4 on a goal by Delaney Wilder late in the third quarter. 

The two teams exchanged goals back-and-forth in the fourth quarter with Whittier scoring the game-tying goal with just under two minutes remaining. 

With time winding down, Kylie Corwin fired one in the back of the net with three seconds remaining from a deep distance to give the Titans a last second victory.

Wilder had a great performance for the Titans, scoring a game-high five goals on seven shots. 

Cal State Fullerton 10, Whittier 9

The Titans comeback against Whittier was even more impressive than the first game. Fullerton trailed 5-0 at halftime before getting on the board at the 6:27 mark of the third quarter on a goal by Gabrielle Zaretskiy. 

Trailing 8-4, the Titans rattled off five unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to take a 9-8 lead. Whittier then tied the game at 9-9 on goal with 23 seconds left before Corwin once again came up with the game-winner with 10 seconds left. 

Corwin scored just one goal in each game but both came in the final second to give the Titans the victory. 

Fullerton now heads into Big West play as rivals Long Beach State comes to Titan Aquatics Center Friday at 6:00 p.m. PT.
