Water Polo Drops Two Games on Opening Day of Tina Finali Memorial Tournament

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's water polo dropped two games on day one of the Tina Finali Memorial Tournament Friday. 

Fullerton fell to Azusa Pacific in game one of the tournament by a final score of 21-7. The Titans fell behind 10-0 before getting on the board with 2:24 left in the first half on a goal by Kylie Corwin

The Titans returned to the pool in the afternoon against Fresno Pacific where they lost a tightly contested matchup 9-7. 

Fullerton defeated Fresno Pacific earlier in the year, 9-8, but came up short Friday afternoon. The Titans had another slow start, falling behind 8-1 in the first half. The team came battling back in the second, out-scoring Fresno Pacific 6-1. 

Americul Mendoza led the Titans offensively in both games with three goals for a total of six goals on the day. 

Fullerton is back in action Saturday against California Baptist at 11:45 a.m. and Ottawa at 4:45 p.m.
