REDLANDS, Calif. — Cal State Fullerton women's water polo split its doubleheader Saturday, defeating Redlands in the first game of the day before a tightly contested loss to Concordia. The Titans are now 5-5 on the year.
Cal State Fullerton 9, Redlands 7
The Titans got off to a quick start versus Redlands, with Mia Solorzano and Gabrielle Zaretskiy each finding the back of the net to put Fullerton up 2-0. But the Bulldogs responded with three goals of their own to take a 3-2 advantage. Solorzano scored a backhand goal as the shot clock expired and Zaretskiy added another as the score remained tied, 4-4, at halftime.
Zaretskiy scored her third of the game on a power play and Kieran Scout Bates snuck one in just under the crossbar to give Fullerton a 6-4 lead at the start of the fourth period. Kieran Scout Bates then found Kylie Corwin for a goal before Zaretskiy scored on a five-meter attempt to give the Titans a three-point cushion, 8-5.

Zaretskiy scored her fifth of the contest on an assist from Brittney Pino, putting Fullerton up 9-5 with 3:55 to go. Redlands scored a pair of goals in the final minutes but it wasn't enough, as the Titans came away with the 9-7 win.
Zaretskiy led the Titans with five goals on 11 shots, while Solorzano added two goals on four shots. Haden Skye Bates recorded five saves in goal to go with four steals to earn her fifth win of the year.
Cal State Fullerton 10, Concordia 13
The Titans fell behind early to Concording, going down 2-0 in the first four minutes of the game. Fullerton trailed 7-3 at halftime.
The team coming storming back in the second half to make it a three goal game in the final minutes after Kyle Corwin scored. Fullerton ultimatley fell short of the game back to fall 13-10.
Zartskiy had a great game and day for the Titans, scoring six goals in the loss to Concordia and five in the win over Redlands.
Up next the Titans are back at home Wednesday to face Toronto at 11:00 a.m. and Biola at 5:00 p.m.
