Cal Poly Takes Season Series with 3-0 Sweep

San Luis Obispo, Calif. - Cal Poly remains at the top of the Big West Conference volleyball standings with a 3-0 sweep of Cal State Fullerton Saturday night at Mott Gym behind a double-double by hitter Ali Waller.

With their second win of the season over the Titans, the Mustangs up their record to 13-7 overall and 8-1 in league action. Fullerton drops to 12-12 overall and 5-4 in Big West play.

With a .295 attack percentage, the Mustangs executed a swift 25-16, 25-20, 25-12 victory over the visiting Titans who hit just .112 as a team on the night. Waller led her squad with 10 kills and 12 digs and added a pair of block assists to boot.

The Fullerton offense was led by sophomore Erin Saddler, who posted a match-high 12 kills and hit .348 on the night. Brittany Moore just missed a double-double of her own with nine kills and eight digs in the loss.

Jacyln Houston led the way at the net for Cal Poly posting 5 block assists while also notching seven kills (.583) to back Waller. Freshman Sydney McDowell, for the second night in a row, led the Titans' defense at the net with four block assists. Titan libero Cami Croteau led the floor in digs Saturday night, scooping 17 would-be kills in the back row.

Seven matches remain in Big West Conference competition. Fullerton will now head home and host UC Irvine on Thursday (Oct. 30) and UC Riverside (Nov. 1) on Saturday.
