Neto Leads Fullerton to Sweep of Riverside

Fullerton, Calif. - Freshman Kayla Neto blasted 15 kills and supplied four blocks in Cal State Fullerton's 3-0 sweep of visiting UC Riverside Thursday night in Big West Conference volleyball action in Titan Gym.

Fullerton, which lost the lead just three times on the night, improves to 12-7 overall and evens its league record at 3-3. The Titans also improve their 2009 home record to 9-1. Riverside falls to 2-14, 0-6.

Neto hit .565 on the match, committing just 2 errors in 23 swings as the Titans hit a combined .269 as a team and beat the Highlanders, 25-20, 26-24, 25-22. Erin Saddler also provided 11 kills en route to her eighth double-double of the year. She also scooped 13 digs in the win.

Riverside's Dominique Cowling was the night's big hitter, powering 18 kills while hitting a team-leading .421. Tonbara Toupele had seven kills, two aces and 10 digs in support of Cowling's effort. Riverside, losers of 11 of its last 12, hit just .148 as a team.

Neto's four blocks was the most by any player in the match as Fullerton out-blocked Riverside 7.0 to 3.0. Sophomore Torrie Brown added three blocks for the Titans. Bianca Endersby and Shelby LeDuff stuffed two block assists apiece.

Titan setter Andrea Ragan also notched a double-double providing a match-high 35 assists and 11 digs. CSF Libero Cami Croteau led all players with 17 digs on the night.

Fullerton returns to the floor Friday night and will host Cal State Northride in another Big West Conference match that will begin at 7 p.m. at Titan Gym.
