Koanui Named The Big West Defensive Player of the Week

IRVINE, Calif.Nadia Koanui has been named The Big West Defensive Player of the Week in Women's Volleyball, the conference announced Monday. 

The freshman from Kapolei, Hawaii, tallied a match-high 15 digs in the Titans' home-opening win over Gonzaga on Friday night to go along with five assists. Koanui followed up the performance with 26 digs versus Weber State on Saturday, another match-high, while also posting three assists and a pair of aces. 

Koanui is averaging 4.61 digs per set on the season, good for second in The Big West. She currently ranks fifth in the conference in total digs with 106. 

The Titans travel to Phoenix this weekend for matches against California Baptist on Friday and Grand Canyon on Saturday.
