Titans Comeback to Defeat CSUN at Home

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's volleyball defeated CSUN in four sets (23-25, 25-13, 25-22, 25-22) Saturday evening at Titan Gym. 

The Titans dropped the first set of the match, 23-25, but quickly responded in the second set. Fullerton trailed 6-4 in set two before going on a 12-1 run, including nine straight points, to take a commanding lead. 

Makena Ala'ilima-Daley and Julia Crawford led the Titans with 13 kills each. Crawford added 21 digs on the defensive end for her 13 double-double of the season. 

Taylor Orshoff led CSUN with 16 kills on the night while Nicole Nevarez added 15 for the Matadors. 

Elizabeth Schuster had a game-high 40 assists while adding 12 digs for her 16th double-double of the year. Neena Dimas had a game-high 28 digs on the defensive end. Haley Carmo was a force at the net for Fullerton, recording a season-high seven blocks.

With the two teams tied at 21 in the fourth set, Ala'ilima-Daley recorded the final four kills for the Titans to secure the 3-1 victory. 

Fullerton hits the road to face UC Riverside Friday at 7:00 p.m. before returning to Titan Gym for senior night against UC San Diego at 5:00 p.m.
