LA JOLLA, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's volleyball came up short on the road against UC San Diego, losing by a score of 3-1 Saturday night. The Titans are now 6-9 with a 4-3 Big West record.
Fullerton pushed UC San Diego to the brink in the first set but were unable to secure the victory as the Tritons took the set 26-24. The Titans came out in set two looking to even up the match but ultimately fell short, 25-21.
The Titans weren't done yet as they battled back to take set three by a score of 25-23. With Fullerton down late in the fourth set the team was doing all it could to get back in the game but fell by a score of 25-21.
Julia Crawford led the team with 13 kills while adding 17 digs to record her 13th double-double of the season. Neena Dimas had a game-high 21 digs in the match. Emily McDaniel led the Tritons with a game-high 14 kills.
Cal State Fullerton is back at Titan Gym Friday and Saturday for a two-game homestand against UC Davis and UC Riverside.
