VB Loses 3-0 at Denver

DENVER - Cal State Fullerton women's volleyball lost 3-0 at Denver on Friday night in Hamilton Gymnasium. To open up the Thin Air Challenge, the Pioneers won 25-22, 25-20 and 25-17 to secure the win. Julia Crawford led the Titans with 12 kills, her fourth straight match with 10+ kills. The squad is back in action on Saturday at 12 p.m. PT at Air Force.

In the opening set, there were zero lead changes at the Pioneers (7-1 overall) were in control throughout. The second set was the best chance for the Titans (2-3 overall) as the score was tied four times and there was one lead change but Denver was able to finish strong. In the third and final set, Fullerton hung around early as the score was tied on three occasions but the Pioneers pulled away.

Crawford recorded 12 kills (.206 hitting), had seven digs and 31 receptions. Freshman outside hitter Lyla Traylor was second on the team with 10 kills (.129 hitting) and eight digs. Sophomore setter Elizabeth Schuster had 27 assists and seven digs. Junior libero Nina Deemas led the team with 11 digs.

Fullerton was originally scheduled to play Idaho on Friday morning but the match was canceled.
