Volleyball Earns 3-1 Win Over Fordham

FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton women's volleyball defeated Fordham on Saturday evening by a score of 3-1. Interim head coach Nicole Polster earned her first win as a head coach on her birthday, moving the Titans to 1-1 on the season. Sophomore Julia Crawford tallied 21 kills and 16 digs, the 12th double-double of her career.

The Titans came back from an 18-15 deficit to take the first set by a score of 29-27. Crawford led the way with six kills and seven digs while Jefferies pitched in five kills. Schuster tallied 16 assists.

In the second set, Fullerton trailed 20-18 but came back once again to take the set by a score of 25-22. Crawford led with five kills and seven digs to reach a double-double through just two sets. Kyahana Robinson made her season debut in the set to record three kills on six attacks with one assist. 

Fordham led 6-1 to start the third set and did not relinquish that lead. Fullerton hung in there had a chance to tie the match at 21 but Fordham extended the lead to 23-20 and ultimately won the set by a score of 25-22.

In the fourth and final set, the Titans jumped out to an early lead and kept their foot on the gas to earn the 25-13 win.

Next up, the Titans head to Louisiana to play three games over the weekend against Southeastern Louisiana, Southern and Auburn.
