Titans Fall in Straight Sets to New Mexico

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women's volleyball fell in straight sets to New Mexico (25-23, 25-9, 25-11) Friday night at Titan Gym. It was the Titans first game back on the court since the 2019 season and the fans came out to show their support as 778 people were in attendance. 

The Titans showed max effort throughout the match, especially in the first set as the two teams went back and forth as it went down to the wire before New Mexico ultimately came out on top, 25-23. Julia Crawford led the Titans with four kills while adding four digs in the first.

Crawford led the team with a total of eight kills. Nicole Shuhandler and Lyla Traylor recorded five kills apiece. Dominique Velarde led the Titans on the defensive end with 10 digs. Elizabeth Schuster and Neena Dimas each tallied eight digs.

Fullerton wraps up the Titan Classic Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. PT against Fordham at Titan Gym.
