FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton had its best set of the season to start the match, but could not keep the momentum going as UC Davis took the match three sets to one (25-20, 14-25, 19-25, 7-25) on Tuesday night.
No Titans reached double-digit kills as Julia Crawford led the way with nine with Haley Carmo right behind her with eight. Three Titans had double-digit digs led by Savahna Costello's 18 while Elizabeth Schryer finished with 17 and Crawford had 11.
Fullerton (11-10, 3-7 BWC) had a monster first set recording 17 kills at a .400 hitting percentage, their best in a set this season. The defense held its own too as Davis (14-11, 6-6 BWC) managed a .286 hitting percentage as the Titans took the first set 25-20.
Unfortunately, CSF lost its momentum falling in the second set 25-14 and again in the third set 25-19.
The fourth set was definitely one to forget about as the Titans managed just seven points posting a -.188 hitting percentage only recording two kills.
Cal State Fullerton will look to bounce back this weekend as they host a pair of matches in Titan Gym with CSUN and Long Beach State coming to town. Both matches will start at 7:00 p.m.
