FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton (10-8, 2-5 Big West) will host No. 21 Hawaii in Titan Gym on Friday for Breast Cancer Awareness Night. Fans that wear pink will get entry into the match for just five dollars.
This will be the second time the Titans and Rainbow Wahine face off after UH won the first meeting in Honolulu. Fullerton jumped out to an early lead taking the first two sets, but could not close it out as Hawaii battled back and reverse swept the Titans. Julia Crawford and Makenzi Abelman both posted double-doubles in the tough loss and Tyler Fezzey recorded double-digit kills as well.
Led by Crawford (3.94 kills per set, third in BWC) on offense and Savahna Costello (5.39 digs per set, first in BWC), the Titans are in the midst of their best conference season since 2014 picking up a pair of wins through the first half of Big West play.
Cal State Fullerton has won two of their last three matches with consecutive wins over UC Irvine and Long Beach State before falling to CSUN in their last match.
The No. 21 ranked Rainbow Wahine currently sit in third place in the Big West standings with a 6-2 record. They have won their last three matches with the last being a five-set victory over UC Davis.
The Titans are still looking for their first win against Hawaii in the all-time records.
