IRVINE, Calif. – Felicia Marshall led the way with a team-high 11 kills, but it wasn't enough as UC Irvine defeated Cal State Fullerton 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-20), Thursday evening inside the Bren Events Center.
The Titans got better as the match went on; keeping things close in the second and third sets, but unfortunately just couldn't get over the hump.
Marshall tallied six digs in addition to her 11-kill performance. Alicia Dennis had an effective night, tallying seven kills on a .300 attack percentage.
Savahna Costello led Fullerton in digs with 17 and compiled seven assists. Courtney Mueller led the Titans with 11 assists. Haley Carmo, Maya Riddlesprigger and Marshall all had two block assists each to lead Fullerton.
The Titans now travel up to Northern California to take on UC Davis, Saturday at 1 pm PT inside the Pavilion.
