FULLERTON, Calif. – For the second straight night, the Titans came out with all of the energy, but unfortunately just couldn't sustain it, as UC Santa Barbara defeated Fullerton 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-11), Saturday evening inside Titan Gym.
Felicia Marshall led the Titans with 11 kills on a .300 attack percentage to go along with six digs. Madeline Schneider also recorded a double figure kill performance, as she tallied 10 kills to go along with five digs.
Savahna Costello was the leader defensively, racking up 10 digs, while Haley Carmo helped out with a couple of block assists.
Courtney Mueller recorded a team-best 10 assists as the team's setter.
It was a little bit of déjà vu, as once again the Titans came out with all of the energy to begin the match. Fullerton scored the first point and led for most of the set, but the Gauchos (10-5, 2-2 Big West) hung around and managed to steal the opening set 25-21.
UCSB took off from there, claiming the next two sets to earn the win.
The Titans now take a break from league play, as they'll play at Bakersfield on Tuesday at 6 pm PT.
