LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Cal State Fullerton battled in every set, but just didn't have enough to get over the top, as tournament host UNLV defeated the Titans 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-22) in the nightcap of the Rebel Challenge, Friday night inside Cox Pavilion.
Madeline Schneider led Fullerton (6-3) in kills for the eighth time this season, as she accumulated 14 on the night to go along with eight digs. Savahna Costello led the Titans in digs with 10, while Courtney Mueller was the team's assist lead with 15 and seven digs.
Felicia Marshall had an efficient match, striking for nine kills on .412 attack percentage, while Haley Carmo was fantastic defensively, gathering seven block assists and a solo block.
Tyler Fezzey had five block assists and Nastassja Bowman generated 13 assists.
The Titans kept it close throughout, but the Rebels (5-3) were just one step ahead all night long. However, Fullerton outhit UNLV .125 to .122 in the final set.
The Titans will wrap up the weekend with a matchup against Fordham, tomorrow at 11:30 am PT inside the Cox Pavilion.
