FULLERTON, Calif.--- Summer Kerins led the Titans with 5.5 points and four kills, but it wasn't enough as San Jose State defeated Cal State Fullerton 3-0, Saturday afternoon inside Titan Gym.
Madeline Schneider and Tyler Fezzey led Fullerton with five kills each, while Nastassja Bowman led the way defensively with 11 digs. Cady Francis chipped in with seven digs.
The Spartans (3-1) were firing on all cylinders, as they accumulated a .400 attack percentage in the opening set, en route to a 25-18 opening set victory.
The Titans (2-3) made a push in the second set, as they recorded a .200 attack percentage to keep pace with the Spartans for most of the set, but SJSU eventually pulled away and secured the 25-17 win.
The Spartans went on to win the deciding third set 25-14 to clinch the match victory.
The Titans will be back in action tonight as they'll take on Southern Utah in the nightcap of the Fullerton Classic at 8 pm PT.
