VS. HAWAI'I || AT LONG BEACH STATE
Cal State Fullerton faces a tough week with the Big West Conference's top teams on tap. Fullerton will host 14th-ranked Hawai'i at Titan Gym on Saturday at 7 p.m., in the second meeting for the two squads this season before traveling to Big West-leading Long Beach State on Tuesday (7 p.m.).

TICKETS
Tickets for all Titans home games can be purchased online at FullertonTitans.com, or at the Cal State Fullerton Athletics Ticket Office, located in the Titan House on campus off of Gymnasium Drive on the northeast side of Titan Gym. Game day sales and will call tickets will open one hour prior to the scheduled time at the specific venue. All Cal State Fullerton students with a school ID get free admission.

HAWAI'I NOTES
• The Rainbow Wahine (14-5, 7-1 BWC) are currently second in the Big West Conference standings trailing Long Beach State (15-7, 9-0 BWC), who is undefeated in league play.
• Nikki Taylor is closing in on No. 12 on Hawai'i's career kill list with 1,259 total kills. She now needs just seven kills to tie former UH All-American Diana Jessie (1984-87) who currently holds No. 12 with 1,266 career kills. With a season average of 4.87 kills per set, Taylor currently paces the Big West Conference and ranks seventh nationally. 
• As a team, UH currently leads the conference in hitting percentage (.260), opponent hitting percentage (.164) and blocks (2.71 per game).
• Emily Maglio's .378 attacking percentage is tied for tops in the Big West, and her 1.33 blocks per set also lead the conference.
• Nikki Taylor and Norene Iosia lead the league with 0.56 and 0.41 aces per set, respectively.

LONG BEACH STATE
• With a five-set victory over No. 12 Hawai'i in Long Beach on Oct. 8, the 49ers (15-7, 9-0 BWC) are currently in the driver's seat to clinch the Big West Conference crown.
• LBSU and UH will meet again on Friday, Nov. 4, in Hawaii.
• On Oct. 13, 2012, the Titans snapped a 59-,match, 30-year losing streak to Long Beach State with a 3-1 victory at Titan Gym. The Titans have since lost seven straight, thus winning one match against the 49ers in the last 67 meetings.
• As a team, LBSU ranks third in the Big West Conference with a .249 attacking percentage and the team's average of 2.33 blocks per set as well as 15.26 digs per set each rank third in the league, respectively.
• Nele Barber's 3.92 kills per set rank third in the Big West. Missy Owens' 10.62 assists per set rank second in the conference. 

ABOUT THE TITANS
• Cal State Fullerton (6-16, 1-7 BWC), who was winless in 2015, has secured six victories this season.
• The Titans are currently on seven-match losing streak, their longest of the season, winning just three sets in their last 24.
• The Titans ended a 19-match Big West Conference losing streak with a 3-1 victory over UC Riverside on Sept. 24.
• The Titans are often battling from behind with a 4-18 record in the first set this season and a 2-16 mark after a first-set loss.
Summer Kerins ' .308 hitting percentage leads Cal State Fullerton and ranks eighth in the Big West. 
Shimen Fayad's 3.51 kills per set rank sixth in the conference, and her 0.28 service aces per set also rate sixth in the league.
• Fayad leads the Titans with 12 double-doubles.

2016 SEASON HONORS
Career highs in kills and digs from Shimen Fayad helped the Titan volleyball team win its first conference opener in five years and earned her Big West Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honors on Sept. 26. The 6-foot outside hitter tallied 27 kills and 22 digs to spearhead Fullerton to a four-set victory over UC Riverside on Sept. 24. It was Fayad's team-leading ninth double-double of the year.The win over the Highlanders snapped a 19-match Big West Conference losing streak that dated back to Nov. 15, 2014. Fayad, who hit a torrid .390 for the match with just four errors in 59 attempts, became even more productive as the match wore on. She was responsible for 10 of Fullerton's 13 kills, including match point, in the fourth and final set.  She hit .769 in that set.

GAME NOTES
• The Titans' 19-match Big West Conference losing streak was snapped in the 3-1 win over UCR on Sept. 24 which dated back to Nov. 15, 2014, when they captured a 3-0 victory over the Highlanders.
Shimen Fayad's 27 kills against UCR were the most for any Titan in 2016
• Dating back to 1980, Cal State Fullerton is 5-32 in conference opening matches...playing at home in conference openers, the Titans are 4-14…Cal State Fullerton won its first Big West Conference opener since a 3-0 sweep of Cal Poly at Titan Gym on Sept. 23, 2011.
Annie Ellis set career highs in kills (3), attempts (8), assists (34), digs (7) and blocks (4), in Saturday's 3-1 loss at UC Davis.

ACES WILD
Shimen Fayad had quite a day at the line in the opening weekend as she served up six aces in one match to help Cal State Fullerton defeat Mississippi Valley State. With her half-dozen service aces, Fayad made her way into the Titans' single-match record book as she tied for fourth most aces in a single match. She now leads the team with 16 aces on the year to average 0.32 per set.

Following its game at Long Beach State on Tuesday, Cal State Fullerton will play at UC Riverside on Friday, Nov. 4.
