Titans Swept in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday at the SDSU/USD California Mixer, suffering a 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-18) loss at 10th-ranked San Diego in the morning, before falling 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-12) at San Diego State in the evening.

Cal State Fullerton suffered a 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-18) loss to 10th-ranked San Diego as part of SDSU/USD California Mixer on Saturday morning at Jenny Craig Pavilion.

Meagan Carlson led the Titans with nine kills on 16 attempts for a .562 attacking percentage. Summer Kerins added seven kills and five blocks while Rachel Hall led the offense 24 assists.

San Diego attacked at a clip of .370 – the highest for any Titan opponent this season - led by Lauren Fuller's 13 kills and Lauren Schad's 11 strikes.

For the first time this season, Cal State Fullerton was swept in back-to-back matches as the Titans were defeated 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-12) by San Diego State at Aztec Court on Saturday night to close play at the SDSU/USD California Mixer.

The Titans (5-9), concluded the tournament 0-3.

The Aztecs (8-5) were led by Deja Harris' 10 kills in a near perfect 11 attempts as she posted an attacking clip of .909. In addition, Harris added three block assists as SDSU totaled 11 team blocks.

For Fullerton, Madeline Schneider led the way with six kills as the Titans were held to -.081 attacking percentage, the lowest of the season for CSF. Rachel Hall delivered 17 assists.

Cal State Fullerton returns to action at 7 p.m., Saturday, hosting UC Riverside in the Big West Conference opener for both teams.

Notes: The Titans are 3-4 in three-set matches in 2016…USD was the first top-25 opponents the Titans have played this year.
