CAL POLY NOTES:

-HOT START: Cal Poly's 17-6 start is the best 23-match opening to a schedule since 2010.

-NELSON SETS NEW BEST: Taylor Nelson posted 61 assists in a five-set win over UC Irvine on Nov. 6, surpassing her previous best of 58 set on Sept. 27, 2014.

-FRESHMAN SENSATION: During her first 23 collegiate matches, Cal Poly freshman outside hitter Adlee Van Winden has amassed 350 kills, which includes seven matches with at least 20 kills. The true freshman has already been named the Big West Conference Freshman Player of the Week seven times this season, including this week, and her kill total is good for third among all Big West attackers. Van Winden's 4.02 kills per set place also place her third in the conference entering the week. The true freshman has compiled double-digit kill totals in 20 of her initial 23 collegiate matches, including a career-best 22 last Friday against UC Irvine. Van Winden is currently No. 8 in single-season program history with her 4.02 kills per set.

HILL SETS CAREER BESTS LAST WEEK:

Kyra Hill posted 12 digs on Nov. 7 in the TItans loss to UC Riverside, surpassing her previous career best of 10 digs. She also tallied 16 kills against Long Beach State on Nov. 4, tying her career high. It was the third time this season Hill has recorded 16 kills, the last coming in the Titans first meeting against UC Riverside on Sept. 25.

Kyra Smith has missed the Titans last three matches with a hand injury. Smith has racked up 22 solo blocks this season, which leads the Big West Conference.

STILL LOOKING FOR THE FIRST ONE:

Fullerton has lost its first 23 matches of the season for the second time since 1980 and first since 1994. It is the third worst start in program history. The Titans went 1-28 after losing the first 26 matches of the season in 1994 and dropped 25 straight to start 1992.
