San Luis Obispo, Calif. -- Bre Moreland and Alyse Hensley each had 19 kills to lead the Cal State Fullerton volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Cal Poly on the Mustangs senior night. The Titans improve to 11-16, 4-11 while the Mustangs drop to 11-16, 5-9.

For Moreland and Hensley, both seniors, the night was not just about their power, it was about their efficiency. As a team, Fullerton finished hitting .328 on the night. Hensley wound up posting a staggering .415 efficiency (committing only two errors in 41 swings) and Moreland hit .400 with only three miscues (in 40 attempts -- a relatively slow night for the outside hitter).

The Titans lost the first set, 19-25, with some poor passing which didn't allow the team to establish much coordinated offense. Once passing and control was established, they came back to win the second and third sets and, specifically in the third, were able to come back from a five-point deficit early to control both those frames. Fullerton's blocking game was also able to apply pressure and keep the Mustangs off balance.

The Titans were up by as many as 10 in the fourth set, but a resilient Mustangs squad would not go quietly despite losing the services of their leading hitter, Chelsea Hardin, to an injury in the fourth set. Hardin finished the night with 12 kills.

For Fullerton, which as a team finished committing only 14 errors, Julie Consani earned the only double double on the night as the junior setter collected 49 assists and picked up 14 digs. Paige Reed, the libero, scooped up eight digs.

The Titans host Hawai'i on Saturday night, Nov. 30, in Titan Gym for their own senior night. Details will be posted later in the week following the Thanksgiving holiday.
