PRIOR TO CAL STATE FULLERTON
In 2012, helped lead the College of Southern Idaho to its
10th National Junior College Athletic Association
national championship with a 3-0 sweep of Western
Nebraska...averaged 1.23 kills per set while totaling 38 blocks and
attacking at a rate of .329 during the season…prior to
playing for the Golden Eagles at the College of Southern Idaho,
spent the 2011 season at Carroll College on the women's basketball
squad.
HIGH SCHOOL
A 2011 graduate of Wendell High School in Wendell,
Idaho…excelled on the basketball and volleyball
court...still holds the school records in basketball for most
blocked shots in a season and career at Wendell High
School…earned second team all-state honors and first team
all-conference honors, and on the volleyball court was the Wendell
HS MVP as a senior as well as the WHS Female Athlete of the
Year…played club volleyball with Club Canyon Twin Falls for
head coach Jim Cartisser.
PERSONAL Born in Bemidji, Minn…parents are Ken and Deb
Brandsma…has one brother (Justin) and one sister
(Karsten)….majoring in child and adolescent development with
the career goal of being a child life specialist…charity
work includes Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Sunshine Ministries
and McKallies Home of Future and Hope…grew up on a dairy
farm and town had one stoplight…favorites include: Kerri
Walsh (volleyball player), Wendell High School Gym (sports venue),
LeBron James (athlete), Jake Owen and Luke Bryan (musical artists),
Pinterest (website), Seattle Seahawks (athletic team),
“Heavyweights” (movie), Jennifer Lawrence (actress) and
ice cream (food).
