FULLERTON, Calif. – Oregon State clinched the crown at the Fullerton Classic by sweeping Cal State Fullerton, 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-18), on Saturday night at Titan Gym to end the two-day tourney undefeated in three matches.
The Beavers improve to 10-2 overall in 2012, and have now won eight consecutive matches.
The Titans (6-7) finish the tournament fourth in the standings with a 1-3 record.
Oregon State was led by tournament MVP Arica Nassar's 12 kills as OSU finished the match with a .298 attacking percentage. Becky Defoe finished the match with 25 digs for the Beavers, while Megan McBride totaled 31 assists.
The Titans were led by Kayla Neto's double-double of 12 kills and 13 digs. Bre Moreland chipped in 11 kills and nine digs, but CSF was held to a .076 clip as OSU totaled 10 blocks.
Julie Consani provided 30 assists, while three different Titans recorded one ace apiece.
Cal State Fullerton will open Big West conference play next weekend beginning with Cal State Northridge at 7 p.m., Friday at Titan Gym, followed by No. 8 Hawai'i visiting Fullerton at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Notes: The Titans were swept for the third time this season…Oregon State now leads the all-time series against the Titans 4-0.

Santa Clara (9-4) improved to 2-1 at the Fullerton Classic with an early-morning 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-21) sweep of Brown (3-5). The Broncos hit at a clip of .405 as Taylor Milton led the club with 13 kills.
Match Six: Oregon State 3, San Diego State 1
The Beavers remained undefeated at the Fullerton Classic on Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 (24-26, 25-20, 25-19, 25-19) victory over San Diego State (at Titan Gym. OSU was led by Camille Saxton's 22 kills.
Match Eight: San Diego State 3, Brown 0
The Bears finish the Fullerton Classic with a record of 0-3, while the Aztecs finished the two-day tourney 2-2.
