Titans Open Classic with Sweep

Cal State Fullerton 3, Brown 0
Cal State Fullerton swept Brown 3-0 (30-28, 25-15, 25-18) on Friday afternoon at Titan Gym as CSF was dominant in its first match at the Fullerton Classic.

A trio of Titans led the squad as junior Leah Best and senior Kayla Neto tied for a match-high 12 kills, as Best managed a .733 attacking percentage. Junior Bre Moreland totaled 10 kills while sophomore setter Julie Consani directed the offense with a match-high 37 assists.

The win also marked the fourth time in 2012 that the Titans have swept an opponent.

Cal State Fullerton was solid on the defensive end, totaling five blocks as freshman Holland Crenshaw led the way with two.

Moreland recorded a double-double adding a match-high 17 digs to her kill total, while Neto also recorded double-figure digs with 10.

The Titan defense held Brown to a .049 attacking percentage.

Senior Gabrielle Dewberry recorded three service aces and as well as 14 digs for Cal State Fullerton.

Santa Clara (8-3) defeated San Diego State (6-3) in the opening match of the Fullerton Classic, 3-2 (19-25, 25-21, 25-22, 23-25, 15-12), as the Broncos were led by Megan Anders' match-high 17 kills. Alyssa Anderson paced the offense with 27 assists and Ali Rambis added 16 digs.
