BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Cal State Fullerton women's tennis team recovered from an early deficit, winning four singles matches on Wednesday afternoon to edge past host CSU Bakersfield, 4-3, at the Stockdale Country Club in Bakersfield.

The Titans won back-to-back matches for the second time this season, improving to 5-4 overall and moving just two victories shy of last season's win total (7-17) with 11 regular season matches remaining. The Roadrunners fell to 0-10 overall with the loss.

Bakersfield took the early lead with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles spots by identical 8-5 scores. Fullerton's only doubles win came at the top of the ladder when Tiffany Mai and Morgan McIntosh combined to defeat Veronica and Daniela Dimas, 8-3.

That left it up to the Titans' singles players to erase Bakersfield's early lead and they did not disappoint, winning in straight sets at the No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, and No. 5 positions to post the victory.

McIntosh's win at No. 2 was the most dominating on the day as the sophomore pitched a 6-0, 6-0, shutout of Daniela Dimas. Mai defeated Veronica Dimas, 6-0, 6-2, for her sixth consecutive singles victory while Monica Rodriguez (6-1, 6-2) defeated Nancy Ramirez and Malorie dela Cruz (6-3, 6-2) downed Nelli Buiuklianova.

Fullerton hits the road once again on Friday (March 9) at 1:30 p.m. as they take on Southern California rival LMU in Los Angeles.
