FULLERTON, CA - The top four in the Cal State Fullerton lineup claimed wins in both singles and doubles and the Titans took home straight-set singles wins in five of the six matches on the day en route to a 6-1 victory over CSU Bakersfield on Thursday afternoon at the Titan Tennis Courts.

The victory halted a brief two-match skid for Fullerton, which improved to 2-3 overall on the year. The Roadrunners continued their winless start to the year, falling to 0-5 overall in 2012.

The doubles duos of Tiffany Mai and Morgan McIntosh at No. 1 and Monica Rodriguez and Kalika Slevcove at the No. 2 spots earned the Titans the early lead with wins of 8-0 and 8-3, respectively, heading into singles play.

That's when the top of the Fullerton lineup dominated, led by Rodriguez, who won her fourth-straight singles match with a, 6-1, 6-1, win over Nancy Ramirez. Mai (6-4, 6-1) and McIntosh (6-0, 6-2) also won their second-straight matches at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots while freshman Jessica Pepa handed Charlotte Hughes a, 6-1, 6-0, loss at the No. 6 spot to end a personal four-match losing streak.

Slevcove also ended a two-match skid, posting a, 6-4, 6-3, win over Julian Mannix at the No. 4 position.

The Titans have a quick turnaround, retaking the courts on Friday (Feb. 17) at 1:30 p.m. as they host Texas-Pan American - the fifth in a string of seven-straight home matches.
