SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton women's tennis team opened up the fall season on Friday with the San Diego State Fall Classic Tournament hosted by San Diego State.
The Titans had three singles players advance to the winning bracket and two doubles pairings advance to the winning bracket as well.
In the red bracket, Camila Garcia won her match against Justine Dondonay (LBSU) in a 6-4, 7-5 game. Garcia will square off against Julia Jordan (SDSU) tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. Diana Yanotskaya was defeated by Victoria Santibanez Luna (CSUN) 6-4, 6-2. Diana Yanotoskaya will go against Veronika Lebisova (UTEP) tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.
In the white bracket, Natalie Duffy defeated her opponent Elena Dibattista (UTEP) 6-2, 6-2. Zoe Olmos was defeated by her opponent Cecile Morin (SDSU) 7-5, 6-3. Natalie Duffy will go against Mathilde Tranberg (LBSU) tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. Zoe Olmos will go against Yulia Zhytelna (CSUN) tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.
In the black bracket, Kaytlin Taylor won a three set battle against Peppi Ramstedt (LBSU) 7-5, 6-7 (7), 7-5. Kaytlin Taylor will go against Vito Solis Urdiales (CSUN) tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.
In the grey bracket, Megan Tagaloa was defeated by Carlotta Mencaglia (UTEP) 6-0, 6-2. Megan Tagaloa will go against Tallia Harper (CSUN) tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.
In the red doubles bracket, Camila Garcia and Zoe Olmos were defeated by the pairing of Masuda/Cook (LBSU) 6-2. Natalie Duffy and Diana Yanotoskaya (CSUF) defeated Jordon/Von Tersch Pohrer (SDSU) 6-2. Garcia and Olmos will go against Morin/Azziz of SDSU tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. Duffy/Yanotoskaya will go against Turchak/Ung (CSUN) tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
In the black doubles bracket, Megan Tagaloa and Kaytlin Taylor defeated Becirovic Novak/Akyurek (LBSU) 6-3. Tagaloa/Taylor will go up against Ho/Santibanez Luna (CSUN) tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
