FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans lost in a non-conference match 4-3 against the University of Arizona Wildcats on Wednesday afternoon at the Titans Tennis Courts.

The No. 64 ranked Titans were coming off an exciting end to a 3-game road trip after defeating Long Beach State last Friday.  The Wildcats were ranked No. 46 and they play their final conference match of the season on Saturday against ASU.

The Titans lost the doubles point in close fashion.  After Tobrand/Nikitash lost their doubles match.  Both the No. 1 doubles team led by Duffy/Suh and the No. 3 doubles team led by Daries/Taylor battled closely in their matches to take them to the tiebreak but the No. 3 doubles team ultimately lost the point against Arizona.

In singles, the Titans were able to even things up with the Wildcats and it came to the final match.  Eira Tobrand knocked off her opponent to tie the match at 1-1.  Arizona went ahead 3-1 after taking the No. 2 and No. 5 matches.  However, No. 4 Juliette Daries and No. 6 Kaytlin Taylor tied the match back at 3-3 for the Titans.  But Arizona's No. 1 was able to hang on and defeat Fullerton's No. 1 YuSeung in straight sets to clinch the match for the Wildcats.

The Titans have two more matches at home this weekend.  The Titans will take on Cal Poly on Saturday before going up against UC Santa Barbara on Sunday.  Both matches will start at 11:00 am.  The Mustangs and the Gauchos are currently the top two teams in the Big West standings.
