LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans women's tennis team defeated Long Beach State 4-3 on Friday afternoon at the Rhodes Tennis Center.

The No. 64 ranked Titans improved to 14-4 overall and 4-2 in Big West play. The Titans are tied for third place in the Big West with the University of Hawai'i.

The Titans started the match with a 1-0 lead after taking the doubles point.  The No. 2 team of YuSeung Suh/Natalie Duffy and No. 3 team of Juliette Daries/Kaytlin Taylor both won their matches to secure the point.

In singles it was a back and forth affair that came down to the final match.  Sheena Masuda won the No. 3 singles over Daries to tie the match at 1-1.  No. 4 Eira Tobrand won her match to give the Titans a 2-1 lead however, Zara Lennon defeated No. 2 Natalie Duffy to make it tied again at 2-2.  YuSeung Suh won her match to give the Titans a 3-2 lead before No. 6 Kaytlin Taylor fell in her match against Zuzanna Szczepanska.  Finally, during the third and final set, Mariia Nikitash was able to defeat her opponent Peppi Ramstedt to secure the win for the Titans.  

The Titans will finish off the regular season with a 4-game homestand beginning with the University of Arizona on Wednesday.  First serve is set for 12:00 pm.
