FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton Women's Tennis comeback bid fell just short, falling 4-3 to Loyola Marymount on Friday afternoon at the Titans Tennis Courts.

In singles play, Natalie Duffy, YuSeung Suh, Juliette Daries, Mariia Nikitash, Camila Garcia and Kaytlin Taylor were in action. In doubles play Duffy and Suh paired up, Garcia and Indya Nespor teamed up, and Taylor and Daries paired up.

The Titans fell in both doubles matches against LMU. On court one Duffy and Suh fell 6-0 in their match, while Garcia and Nespor fell 6-1. In the unfinished match on court three however, the Titans pair of Taylor and Daries were up 4-2.

As for singles play the Titans battled valiantly throughout. Garcia evened the score at 1-1 when she won in straight-sets on court five, 6-3, 6-2. Duffy then lost on court one 6-3, 6-3 to give LMU a 2-1 lead. 

Nikitash also fell in her match on court four, giving LMU a 3-1 lead. Kaytlin Taylor then brought the Titans within a point of tying the match, 3-2, when she won a hard fought match in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6 (3). 

Daries tied the match at 3-3 with a huge come from behind win on court three. She lost the first set 4-6, before winning sets two and three 6-3 to tie the match. The Titans could not quite pull out the win on court two, where Suh took her match to three sets, but fell 2-6, 6-4, 2-6.

Up Next: The Titans head to San Diego on Sunday to take on UC San Diego in conference play at 12 p.m.
