San Diego, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton Women's Tennis had five athletes earn straight-sets singles wins as the Titans took down Point Loma Nazarene University in dominant fashion, 6-1, on Wednesday afternoon.
In singles play, Natalie Duffy, Eira Tobrand, Juliette Daries, Mariia Nikitash, YuSeung Suh, and Camila Garcia were in action. In doubles play Duffy and Suh paired up, Garcia and Tobrand teamed up, and Taylor and Daries paired up.
The Titans set the tone early in doubles play. Duffy and Suh lead wire-to-wire in their match, winning 6-2. Daries and Taylor then clinched the doubles point for the Titans, with a 6-4 win.
Fullerton continued to dominate in singles play. Five different Titans earned straight-sets wins in their respective singles matches.
Garcia and Nikitash continued their winning ways for the Titans in singles play and earned the second and third points of the day for the Titans. Garcia won her match 6-3, 6-2, while Nikitash dropped just two games on the day, winning in straight-sets 6-2, 6-0. Daries continued the winning ways for the Titans, she earned the third straight-sets singles win on the day, winning 6-4, 6-2.
Suh continued the trend for Fullerton, winning her match 6-2, 6-4, while Duffy did the same, coming out on top 6-4, 6-4, the fifth straight-sets win on the day.
Tobrand was also involved in singles play, where she dropped a hard-fought match 6-7(2), 6-7(6).
Up Next: The Titans are back in action on Feb. 4, when they host San Jose State at 1:30 p.m at the Fullerton Tennis Courts.
