FULLERTON, Calif. –   The Titans women's tennis team honored their three seniors this Thursday as they played their final home match against Hawai'i.

At first glance, it looked like the Rainbow Wahine were going to take the doubles point from the Titans. Both No.1 and No.2 started out down at 0-5 in their matches. After the completion of Eira Tobrand/Misaki Kobayashi match, No. 3 doubles gave the Titans hope by winning 6-2. Now the pressure fell on Jadie Acidera/Camila Garcia who were down the entire match. But, the Titans did not cave into the Rainbow Wahine and found their momentum. With a couple of saved deuce-match points that would've given Hawai'i the doubles point, the Titans overcame and won seven games straight to win, 7-5. By catching Hawai'i at a standstill, the Titans secured the doubles point to head into singles.

The Titans did not let up as they began their singles matches.  No. 6 Juliette Daries boosted the Titans to a 2-0 lead with the early completion of her match due to her opponent's retirement. With the remaining five matches on, the outcome of the day was looking a bit hazy. Every match took it a third set. Eira Tobrand at No. 2 was able to take the first set loss and come back to win both the second and third set (2-6, 6-2, 6-2). The Titans increased their lead to 3-0 but still nothing was guaranteed. Every Titan was deep into their match and going toe-to-toe with the Rainbow Wahine. At No. 4 singles, Natalie Duffy clinched another victory for the Titans to win the conference match.

Now the Titans have a three game winning streak in conference play.

The final score for the Titans was 4-0.

Before the day was over, the Titans took time to celebrate their seniors. The three seniors; Jadie Acidera, Taylor Valenzuela, and Genevieve Zeidan contributed to the success of the team during their time here. Each of them were apart of history by helping the team reach the finals of the Big West Championships in 2018, making it the first time in program history. They have paved a path for the future Titans to come.
