FULLERTON, Calif. –  The Titans women's tennis team were unable to grasp another win at home against Fresno State this Friday.

Doubles was a tough of war with the Bulldogs. After No. 1 doubles dropped their set 2-6 (Eira Tobrand/Misaki Kobayashi), it all came down to No. 2 (Camila Garcia/Jadie Acidera) and No. 3 doubles (Natalie Duffy/YuSeung Suh).  

Giving their opponents a mixture of shots and showing comfort at the net, No. 2 doubles was able to win their set, 6-4. The pressure then fell up No. 3 to win the doubles point for the Titans. By only giving up two points in the tiebreaker, Natalie Duffy/YuSeung Suh won the match and gave their team an early lead against the Bulldogs. The closeness of the matches did not stop at doubles. The Titans found themselves in tight singles matches all of the way until the end. 

After Natalie Duffy lost to her opponent at No. 4 singles, Juliette Daries bumped the Titans up to a 2-1 lead by defeating Bulldog, Ella Husrefovic, in straight sets. Eira Tobrand would then get the second singles win for the Titans to give them a huge lead of 3-1. 

Only needing one more match to close it out, the Titans looked to No. 1, 3 and 5 singles for the winning point. Misaki Kobayashi came back in the second set of her match in attempt to pull out the win in the third. But, unfortunately she was unable to come out on top and lost 4-6, 6-2, 2-6. Jadie Acidera had a long battle against the Bulldog, Cristina Flaquer, however, ended up losing in straight sets. 

Now with the Titans tied 3-3 to the Bulldogs, all of the focus came to YuSeung Suh at No. 5 singles. After losing the first set, Suh came back to take the second and force her opponent into a third set. Although there were long rallies and tough made shots, Suh fell her to her opponent 4-6, 6-4, 1-6. 

The final score of the evening for the Titans was 3-4.
