FULLERTON, Calif. –   The Titans beat the Tritons in their home conference opener on Saturday to tally Head Coach, Dianne Matias' 100th win. 

Doubles was a close one for the Titans. Every match went neck and neck, but No. 3 doubles (Natalie Duffy/YuSeung Suh) was able win their match in order to boost the Titans chances of capturing the doubles point, 7-6 (2). No. 2 doubles came to a halt after UC San Diego had to retire due to an injury, leaving the match at 6-6.  Up at No. 1 doubles, Eira Tobrand/Misaki Kobayashi were able to help the Titans with the doubles point after beating their opponents in a tiebreaker, 7-6(1). 

In singles, Misaki Kobayashi was able to breeze through her match by only dropping one game (6-0, 6-1).  YuSeung Suh also beat her opponent in straight sets to give the Titans a 3-0 overall lead in the match. 

The last point to secure the win for the Titans came after Juliette Daries beat Shweta Kumar in straight sets, (6-2, 6-1). After the remaining matches concluded, the final score of the evening for the Titans was 6-0.  

To top off the home conference opener win, Dianne Matias, added to her book by marking her 100th win as a Titans head coach.  She is just the fifth Fullerton women's tennis head coach since 1984. With this only being her eighth season, Dianne continues to make her mark for herself and the team.
