SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Titans picked up their first win of the weekend, as Caisey Lee Emery recorded a victory in singles play on Friday at ITA West Regionals down in San Diego.
The highlights of the day came from Caisey Lee Emery who was able to defeat SDSU's Ellie Ashley. Emery had a strong performance winning the first set 6-2 before blanking her opponent 6-0 in the second set. She moves to a 1-1 record for this weekend's tournament.
The other singles match paired Petra Such up with ASU's Samantha Alicea. Such lost the game in two sets 6-3, 6-0. She will play another singles match tomorrow at 12:30pm PT with a chance to bounce back after Friday's defeat.
In doubles, the Titans played two games and fell short in both games. The CSUF doubles team gave a hard time to their opponents but lost 6-4 and 7-5 respectively.
The Titans will keep competing in extra matches this Saturday. Friday's results and Saturday's schedule are listed below.
