FULLERTON, Calif. --- Cal State Fullerton is just one victory shy of matching its program record for consecutive wins – eight – as the Titans host Loyola Marymount on Sunday morning at Titan Tennis Courts.

The Titans have opened the season with seven consecutive wins, a program best, and are looking to match last season's record-setting eight-match win streak that took place from Feb. 3-March 7, 2016.

The Lions (3-1) will host UC Riverside on Saturday before visiting Fullerton on Sunday.

NEWS & NOTES
Last week, Cal State Fullerton opened play in the Big West Conference with a 7-0 sweep of UC Riverside at Titan Tennis Courts.

Senior Alexis Valenzuela remains unbeaten at 6-0 in singles play, and is now 46-14 in her dual match singles career.

Fellow senior Camille De Leon is also undefeated in singles action at 5-0, and boasts a career singles mark of 47-25 at Fullerton.

As a group, the Titans singles record is 30-6 (.833) in 2017, and Fullerton's doubles record is 14-3 (.824).

Fullerton has yet to lose the doubles point this season.

In addition, junior Danielle Pham enters the week on a three-match win streak, while sophomore Sarah Nuno has won five in a row.

OPPONENTS
Dating back to 2000, Loyola Marymount leads the all-time series with Cal State Fullerton, 15-2, however the Titans have won the last two meetings between the two programs.

Loyola Marymount is on a three-match win streak with wins over a trio of Big West Conference opponents: CSUN (5-2), Long Beach State (4-3) and UC Irvine (5-2).

AWARD SEASON
Cal State Fullerton sophomore Sarah Nuno went a combined 3-0 in singles and doubles play to earn the Big West Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week award, it was announced by the league on Feb. 8.
Nuno overcame a first set loss to Joselyn Treyes Albar, but rebounded to win the match against her Dons counterpart, prevailing 6-7 (5), 6-0, 6-3.
Against Santa Clara, she blanked Zeina El Tawil, 6-0, 6-0.  She helped the Titans capture the doubles point with Portalatin, as the duo took care of El Tawil and Nabila Farah, 6-2. 
The athlete of the week award was the first for Nuno during her Titan career.

Senior Alexis Valenzuela was voted the Big West Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week, it was announced by the league on Feb. 1.
She posted three singles victories as the Titans swept UC San Diego, the No. 13-ranked team in Division II, as well as San Diego State (4-0) and San Diego (4-3) on the road.
She has been named the Big West Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week four times during her career.
