FULLERTON, CA – Camille DeLeon won the No. 2 singles match and teamed with Megan Sandford to win at No. 1 doubles but Long Beach State won all the other matches Friday as Cal State Fullerton lost its Big West Conference opener, 6-1.
It was the opening dual match of the season for the 49ers while the Titans dropped their third in a row to fall to 2-3.
DeLeon beat Hayley Thompson, 6-1, 6-2, and she and Sandford were 6-2 winners over Thompson and Ebba Unden.
Fullerton returns to action Wednesday on the Titan Courts with a 1:30 p.m. non-conference match against Azusa Pacific.
