CLEMSON, S.C. - The Cal State Fullerton loss 12-2 in five innings against the No. 17 Auburn Tigers on Friday afternoon at McWhorter Stadium in their 31st NCAA Regional Appearance.

The Titans fell to 33-20 overall for the season.  The Titans are now in the losers bracket where they will play UNC Greensboro in an elimination game at 3:30 EST (12:30 PST).  If they defeat the Spartans, the Titans will take on the loser of the Clemson-Auburn game in the final game of the day on Saturday.  Clemson defeated UNC Greensboro 17-2 in the first game of the day.

The normally solid Titans pitching staff allowed a season high 12 runs and nine walks for the game. They also allowed eight hits for the game.

Auburn took a 2-0 lead in the first inning with a two out rally that started with a hit by a pitch, a walk, then two base hits.

The Titans got one run back in the second inning after a triple from Daisy Munoz, the first of her career.  Deshea Hill drove her in on the next at-bat to make it a 2-1 game.

Auburn increased their lead to 6-1 in the bottom half of the inning after a grand slam by Bri Ellis.

The Titans got one run back in the top of the third inning.  Peyton Toto and Alexa Neil both reached on errors by the shortstop.  Bailey Wallace drove Toto in on a knock to shallow center field.

Auburn chased Sutherlin out of the game in the third inning after a leadoff double. Haley Rainey took over the circle for the Titans and allowed the inherited run to score on a sac fly to make it a 7-2 game.

The Titans had to utilize three pitchers in the fourth inning against Auburn as Haley Rainey, Raci Miranda, and Alexia Silvas allowed five runs on three hits and five walks in the inning.

The Titans will take on UNC Greensboro for the first matchup in history between both sides tomorrow.
